Fish In The News – Funny and Surprising Seafood Stories

Fish In The News – Funny and Surprising Seafood Stories

The Prince of Whales

Much laughing ensued after a classic typo on Donald Trump’s recent Tweet ‘bigging himself up’ about his importance following his meetings with various Heads Of State. But this mistaken VIP was the biggest fish of them all and a ruler of the waves rather than, err, Wales.

After a long time ignoring the kingdom under the sea, our good old buddies in the USA are finally opening up the diplomatic channels with the real Big Boys of the Ocean – the Whales.

The tweet was amended soon after!

Fishing Reality TV Show

Viewers on BBC1 Wales have been enjoying a new drama based in the fishing industry at the turn of the 20th century.

Four families from Liverpool, Kent, Swansea and Cardiff,  who dream of escaping the stresses of the modern world will face the challenge of their lives as they hark back to the lifestyles of the early 1900s to try to make a living in a fishing community on Llanddwyn, a beautiful, uninhabited tidal island, off the coast of Anglesey.

The challenges they face range from trying to work in the the seas to working with each other as they attempt to not just survive but put food on the table.

Kim Jong Un’s Piranha Poser

Did he or didn’t he?

Many commentators have cast doubt on the story claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has executed one of his generals in a piranha-filled tank, echoing a James Bond story-line from the 1970s.

The reports said that Kim threw the unfortunate military man into a fish tank infested with piranhas, in a similar style to the 1977 film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’.

Legendary Bond Villain, the evil Karl Stromberg, fed his assistant to the fishes and attempted to do the same to old 007 himself (while Bond of course fashioned an elaborate escape for himself instead).

The tank with the hungry fish is allegedly part of Kim’s Ryongsong Residence in northern Pyongyang and other unsubstantiated details mention a gory ending with the general’s arms and chest slashed with knives to hasten the process.

Thankfully life is a little different in Vauxhall and Coulsdon and we’re quite happy with that!
